Sparta Township - Fire Subcode - PT (7-31-26)

Sparta Township is seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time licensed Fire Sub-Code Official, 2 to 3 days a week.  Under the direction of the Construction Official, candidate will perform plan review and inspections in compliance with the NJ UCC and Fire Protection Subcode. Position required HHS Fire Inspector License, Fire Sub-Code license and strong customer service skills.  Candidate must possess valid NJ Driver License.  Multi-discipline licensing and/or experience with databases (Spatial Data Logic) a plus.  Workdays and hours are negotiable but must be during regular weekday business hours.  PT hourly rate $40 - $55 commensurate with experience.  Sparta Twp. is an EEO/AA and ADA employer and Civil Service Community.  Send cover letter and resume with salary requirements to Michael.Wallace@spartanj.org by August 28, 2026.  The Township reserves the right to appoint a successful candidate before the submission deadline.

Waretown Township - Buidling Official - FT (7-22-26)

Waretown – Township of Ocean, Ocean County
Building Subcode with Construction Official license (full-time)

Minimum Requirements: HHS License and a valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing; Dual licensure in multiple fields is a plus; Knowledge of the Uniform Construction Code; Exceptional customer service communication skills and computer proficiency are required. Must understand FEMA flood rules.

Construction Official, Supervises the daily operations and oversees staff in the Construction Department. This office reviews and issues permits, and reviews violations. The Construction Official must maintain knowledge of the NJ Uniform Construction Code and all related laws $85,000 - $110,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience. Parsippany-Troy Hills Township - Plumbing Inspector - FT (7-21-26)

Open Position Announcement Full-Time Department: Construction Division Workweek: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. – subject to change based upon the needs of the Department and the Township.   Wage: Per ordinance, Salary Range $80,000 - $90,000 White Collar, Non-Exempt Definition: Inspects new and existing buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code and enforces same to ensure public safety, health, and welfare; does related work as required. Note: The definition and examples of work for this title are for illustrative purposes only. A particular position using this title may not perform all duties listed in this job specification. Conversely, all duties performed on the job may not be listed. Skills/Duties: Knowledge of the organization and content of the State Uniform Construction Code regulations, organization, and content of plumbing subcode. Ability to analyze and interpret the State Uniform Construction Code, and other local ordinances that apply. Ability to carry out provisions of the State Uniform Construction Code as they relate to residential, commercial, industrial, and high-rise/hazardous structures.  Knowledge of methods used to conduct plumbing inspections necessary to check compliance with the State Uniform Construction Code. Knowledge of the preparation of violation notices and prescribed inspection record keeping. Able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English. Must be physically capable of performing the essential duties and functions of the position. Experience & Licenses: Willingness to obtain Plumbing Subcode Official License within one year of employment. Must be a New Jersey resident with a valid New Jersey Driver’s License. Possession of valid HHS Plumbing Inspector’s License issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Candidates with ICS Plumbing Inspector licenses may be considered with written understanding that they will seek the higher license(s) as soon as possible. Multiple UCC licenses preferred. East Brunswick - Plumbing Inspector - FT (7-14-26)

Is accepting applications for a part-time and full-time Plumbing Inspector within the division of Construction Inspection. The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties to inspect building work on new and existing commercial, industrial and residential buildings and structures to enforce compliance with all building safety laws and codes. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Considerable knowledge of the N.S.P.C. Code along with all State and Local Regulations that may apply. Must have a knowledge of computers. Must be able to read, write, communicate and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Licensing: Valid NJ driver’s license. Livingston - Plumbing Inspector - Per Diem (7-14-26)

Seeks a Plumbing Inspector for the Building Department. This is a Per Diem position with 20 hours per week. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing plumbing inspections of residential and commercial properties within the Township as required by the NJ Uniform Construction Code. A successful candidate must have strong customer service skills, team player mentality, and natural ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner.| Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and extensive experience in the installation, repair, maintenance and inspection of plumbing systems.| Possession of valid appropriate Plumbing Inspector license issued by The State of New Jersey and a Driver’s License valid in the State of New Jersey are both required. Marlboro - Plumbing Inspector - FT/PT (7-7-26)

Under direction of the Construction Official, has the subordinate administrative responsibility for administering the Plumbing Subcode of the NJ UCC. Performs plan review and inspects all buildings and construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Requires ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment as well as strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor. Must have valid license as an HHS Plumbing Subcode Official issued by NJDCA and valid NJ driver’s license. Minimum 3 years’ experience. 35 hours per week, salary range $90,000-$100,098, paid time-off, medical/dental benefits provided for full-time.
